We offer a diverse range of services including direct assistance, homemaker and companion, educational programs, community engagement, and systemic change initiatives, all aimed at addressing critical needs and empowering individuals and communities.

Direct service

Offering food banks and mentorship programs to provide immediate support and guidance to those in need within the Havana, FL community.

Education

Conducting workshops and awareness campaigns to educate the community on vital issues such as healthcare, poverty, and environmental sustainability.

Community building

Organizing events, cleanups, and community gardens to foster a sense of unity and collective responsibility for a better Havana, FL.

Homemaker and Companion

Homemaker and companion services provide non-medical, in-home support to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families, focusing on light housekeeping, meal preparation, companionship, and errands to help clients live independently. Key duties include cleaning, laundry, shopping, transportation, and social engagement, but they do not provide personal care (bathing, dressing) or medical services.Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) rules.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Light Housekeeping: Cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, changing bed linens, and doing laundry.
  • Meal Preparation: Planning and cooking nutritious meals, preparing snacks, and cleaning up the kitchen.
  • Companionship: Providing social interaction, engaging in hobbies (puzzles, reading), walking, and providing emotional support to reduce isolation.
  • Errands and Transportation: Grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and driving to appointments or social events.
  • Organization and Assistance: Organizing mail, scheduling appointments, and assisting with household organization.

Limitations

Supported Living Coach

Supported living coach services provide personalized training and support to adults with developmental disabilities, enabling them to live independently in their own homes or apartments. Coaches assist with daily tasks such as budgeting, meal planning, home maintenance, and community integration, often offering 24/7 emergency response.Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)

Key services offered by Supported Living Coaches (SLCs) include:

  • Housing Assistance: Locating, securing, and setting up homes.
  • Daily Living Skills: Training in cooking, cleaning, shopping, and laundry.

  • Community Integration: Teaching social skills, utilizing public transportation, and facilitating community involvement.

Supported living coaches in Florida hiring process 

must be at least 18, have a high school diploma/GED, and possess a solid moral history. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (education/related field) OR 1–2 years of college combined with 2–3 years of experience with developmental disabilities. Applicants must pass APD-approved training, including the Supported Living Coaching course via TRAIN Florida

Respite Service

Respite services for individuals with developmental disabilities provide temporary, short-term care to support families and caregivers, offering relief for hours or days. These services, which can be provided in-home, in a private residence, or in specialized facilities, are designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, epilepsy, or cerebral palsy.Avita Community Partners.
